Lincoln's FIRST Birthday Celebration

Once Lincoln touched his single candle, OUCH!, it was time to cut the cake and open the presents as everyone sang the Happy Birthday song on his grandparents back porch in Virginia. It was a wonderful gathering for one and all a week before his actual birthday.

NAESP "Defining Moment" 2009

NAESP Presidents 2009

NAESP meets the Obama Secretary of Education

The National Association of Elementary School Principles (NAESP) finally has an administration listening to the voices of the educational community to improve the quality of our nation's educational system. "A mind is a terrible thing to waste." Our children must to be ready for their future responsibilities to keep our contry safe and prosperous. This goal must be achieved.

Reflections of Global Travels

Reflections provide an opportunity to understand the meaning of each experience and a motivation to visit foreign lands until the end of our days. Discovery is the final test of life. We all need to enjoy all the final moments we can before we make that final travel.

First Grandson Visits

A "defining moment" for grandson during his visit to Virginia. Grandmum and grand daddy babysit for an evening while his parents get a night to enjoy a quiet diner and relaxing movie. Such energy should be bottled and sent as a stimulus package across our nation. Even many trips up our stairs would not tire Lincoln. He giggled and wiggled until way past his bedtime.

Florida House Guests

This is a snapshot of our future generation. They do NOT watch television all day or read books in their spare time. They like to sleep late each day and stay up late each night. They eat when all the fun of the day is over. They believe the computer is a toy for self expression and that the cell phone is a necessity for life. They seek fun in every moment and have no idea what it takes to survive in an adult world. What have we done AMERICA? Are we really raising adults to keep our community safe and a place where discovery never dies? Is Florida the land of educational opportunity?

Father's Day 2009

Gang is almost here. Someone had to take the picture. A Christmas with family will be harder and harder as time ages. So enjoy the family moments while we can. One will never know where we all will be in the coming years. I have never been to China or Japan either. A card on Father's Day is wonderful when we are all separated by many miles and busy times for all.

GrandMa Gail provides some inspiration.
